#2: Lines in the Sand: Music, Boundaries, and the Quiet Fight for Peace

Lines in the Sand: Music, Boundaries, and the Quiet Fight for Peace

There’s a fine line between loyalty and self-sacrifice—between standing by someone and standing in the way of your own growth. These past few months, I’ve learned just how thin that line can become.

Chucky and I have been living a nomadic rhythm, bouncing between the calm of his parents’ home—where we help keep an eye on things—and the creative chaos of The Kings' studio house, where the sessions are supposed to come to life. Supposed to. But life behind the curtain isn’t always what it seems. Drama lurks in corners, and toxic energy seeps through the walls. So we retreat to his parents' house for peace, for grounding, for sanity.

With the tour repeatedly delayed and my layoff from Dukes of Roots still stinging, stability feels like a luxury. And when studio sessions devolve into emotional battlegrounds instead of musical breakthroughs, it’s hard not to feel the weight. I’m all for second chances. Even third ones. But when patterns repeat, when the same harm shows up wearing a different face, it’s not growth—it’s betrayal wrapped in performance. I draw my lines in sand and in stone. If you cross me more than three times, it’s not a misunderstanding—it’s a message.

Still, through it all, Chucky and I remain focused. We’ve worked tirelessly to clean up our lives, to carve out a Cali-sober path grounded in creativity, integrity, and compassion. We’re here to heal, not to drown in someone else’s flood.

And through that clarity, my own music has found fresh life.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve poured myself into creating new music videos—visual worlds for songs that tell my truth louder than words ever could. Every shot, every edit, every vision? My hands. My work. My spirit. I’ve been running my own PR, promotions, and release strategies, and I cannot wait to share the results with you.

For those who’ve supported me through it all—thank you. You’re the reason I keep pushing forward. For those just discovering my journey, welcome. And for everyone: keep your boundaries high and your art pure.

You can find the latest videos on my YouTube channel. There’s more to come.

This is Tenacious T. And the story is still being written—one boundary, one beat, one bold decision at a time.

  1. I'm so proud of you and Chucky and it sounds like you're really discovering yourselves and building a life together. Unfortunately drama and toxic energy is everywhere and you can only control yourself but not others. That's a lesson that I am learning as well.
